Flat benches are the most stable and best for heavy pressing. Adjustable benches recline from flat to incline for variety. FID benches add a decline position. Pick adjustable if you only want one bench; pick flat if pressing is your priority.
What weight capacity do I need?
Look for at least 600 lb rated capacity for serious home gyms (your body weight + the bar + plates). Most Komodo benches exceed that.
How wide should a bench pad be?
Standard pads are about 10 to 12 inches wide. Wider pads support shoulders better; narrower pads let your shoulder blades retract more on the bench press. Test a few in our Kelowna showroom if you're unsure.
