Frequently asked about Saunas
Do you ship saunas to BC and Alberta?
Yes. Komodo Fitness ships saunas across British Columbia and Alberta by pallet freight for $500 per sauna. Common drop-offs include Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, and Lethbridge.
What's the difference between barrel saunas and infrared saunas?
Barrel saunas use a wood or electric heater and operate at high temperature with low humidity. Infrared saunas use infrared panels that heat your body directly at a lower air temperature. Barrel saunas suit outdoor backyard installs. Infrared cabins suit indoor recovery rooms and basements.
What kind of power does a sauna need?
Most barrel saunas with electric heaters need 240V hardwired power. Infrared cabins typically run on a standard 15A 120V outlet. Always confirm the spec sheet for your specific model before ordering.
Do I need a permit to install a sauna at home?
Most outdoor saunas in BC and Alberta count as accessory structures and may need a permit depending on your municipality. Indoor saunas usually don't need a permit but the electrical work does. Check with your local building department before installing.
How long does sauna delivery take?
Pallet freight to BC and Alberta cities typically takes 5 to 10 business days from order confirmation. Kelowna local delivery and showroom pickup are usually faster. Lead times depend on inventory; call 778-789-2279 for a current estimate.
